The Division of Social and Behavioral Determinants of Health (SBDH) is the primary academic home for all Boonshoft School of Medicine faculty in the various disciplines of the social and behavioral determinants of health. Faculty are located in the Department of Population and Public Health Sciences Education and Research Centers (3123 and 3171 Research Blvd., Kettering, Ohio).
SBDH faculty provide consultation to, and collaborate with, other medical school and university departments. They are responsible for the core social and behavioral determinants of health course in the Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) program as well as several M.P.H. electives. They also have a number of grants and contracts for which they are responsible. The Center for Interventions, Treatment, and Addiction Research (CITAR) and the Substance Abuse Resources and Disabilities Issues (SARDI) are housed within this division. The director of the Division of Social and Behavioral Determinants of Health is Marietta Orlowski, Ph.D., MCHES, CPH.
