- Clinical rotations are divided between the VAMC and MVH. One month of pediatrics is done during the first year at the DCH.
- During the first month, the fellow will have a two-week clinical microbiology/research rotation.
- The fellow has three months for research in the first year and four months in the second year.
- During the second year, (contingent on current COVID restrictions) a one-month transplant rotation is scheduled at the University of Cincinnati.
- Fellows will have two continuity clinics throughout the two-year fellowship: Five Rivers Health Center HIV clinic on Friday mornings, and Dayton VA General ID/HIV clinic Tuesday afternoons. If the fellow has specific interests, wound care clinic can be arranged as well.
- There are two main conferences each month: a journal club and a citywide clinical conference. Fellows present at both.
- Faculty are divided between the main training sites. There are seven adult medicine fully-affiliated faculty and one pediatric infectious diseases physician.
