The overall purpose of A Natural History Study of Diverted Buprenorphine Use is to describe and analyze the nature and consequences of diverted buprenorphine (BUP) use among heroin and/or non-medical pharmaceutical opioid (NMPO) users who meet criteria for DSM-5 opioid use disorder.

The overall purpose of the Crystal in the Gem City: Characterizing a Methamphetamine Outbreak in the Area of a High Prevalence of Illicit Fentanyl Use study is to characterize the MA outbreak through mixed methods research that integrates qualitative/structured interview data, urine toxicology, and forensic data on seized drugs and unintentional overdose deaths in the Dayton area.

The proposed Exploring Stigma in the Overdose-Justice Nexus: A Mixed-Methods Study of Good Samaritan Laws in Two Overdose Epicenters study is innovative in the focus on understanding knowledge of GSLs among people who use illicit opioids (PWUIO) and law enforcement officers (LEO) while also exploring how socio-demographic characteristics and perceptions of stigma among both groups influence overdose response outcomes.
