Background/Purpose
To evaluate the effectiveness of online, portal-based VR services and compare the outcomes and cost-effectiveness of online VR services with the outcomes and cost-effectiveness of traditional VR services offered in Ohio, Illinois, and Kentucky. The target population will include VR consumers with significant disabilities in these three states who will be randomly assigned to receive either online VR services or traditional VR services. To provide VR counselors with online training resources to obtain CEUs.
Goals
The ultimate goal of this application is to enhance employment outcomes for individuals with significant disabilities by improving access to VR services that utilize cloud computing. The specific aims are to:
- Implement online VR services that are delivered through personal portals that are optimized for use on cell phones, tablets, and computers
- Compare employment outcomes and cost-effectiveness of online VR services and traditional VR services in a randomized controlled trial (RCT)
- Evaluate the feasibility, usability, and adoption of online services by VR counselors and consumers To develop an online suite of training webinars to be utilized by VR counselors seeking to satisfy their professional CEU requirements,
Outcomes
The VR online CEU portal continues to provide training resources to VR counselors.
