How to Apply
You will apply to our program via the Electronic Residency Application Service, better known as ERAS. Our program's NRMP# is 2011120C1. All applications will be reviewed in a holistic manner, and candidates selected for interviews will be notified via email. We anticipate interviews starting in November, with most occurring in December and January. All interviews will be virtual and will be done in conjunction with the Wright State University Family Medicine Residency program located in Dayton, Ohio. Select candidates will be invited for an optional on-site visit to be held in Greenville in February.
Applicants must apply via ERAS and include in the following:
- Curriculum Vitae
- Personal Statement
- Three letters of recommendation from faculty who have directly supervised the applicant in a clinical setting. At least one letter should be from a family physician.
- Medical school transcript(s)
- Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE)
- USMLE, COMLEX scores
- If there are any gaps in your medical school education, please provide an explanation.
The application deadline is January 15.
Eligibility Requirements*
- Be scheduled to graduate or have graduated from an LCME-accredited medical school.
- Have a passing score on Step 1 of USMLE
- Be eligible to work in the United State as a US Citizen or a lawful permanent resident (green card holder, Asylee, Refugee, etc.). The program does not provide visa sponsorship.
- Must be eligible for licensing in Ohio
- Meet employment eligibly requirements for Miami Valley Hospital GME Trainees
All incoming residents are required to pass USMLE Step II prior to NRMP Rank Day.
Preferences for interview are given to applicants who:
- Demonstrate a passion for rural medical practice
- Are fully committed to family medicine as a career path
- Have excelled on clinical rotations and patient centered care
- Have engaged in community service activities
- Are dedicated to diversity, inclusion, and equity
- Graduated medical school within the last three years
